The Destruction of Afghanistan

Afghanistan in the eyes of Amir when he was young is nothing like the Afghanistan Amir returns to years later.  The imagery of Afghanistan when Amir was young was this peaceful loving and secure country where children can run the streets and fly kites without any worries in the world. However, when Amir returns back to his country years later and he finds his home country to be this unpleasant and unrecognizable place full of hatred and despair. He sees first- hand the destruction that the Russians and Taliban have done. The destruction was not only done to the homes, streets and buildings but also the destruction of families, friends and a sense of community and security. Amir witnesses some of the aftermath of the Russian and Taliban’s evil doings, such as  the beggars on the streets who are starving, fathers and mothers not being able to feed their children, bodies and body parts all over the streets and the unfortunate destruction of the orphanage that his father once built.
By watching the video “Talking to the Taliban,” we get a better understanding of what this situation with Afghanistan is really about and the evil behind the whole thing. The Taliban’s point of view is that they are not portraying any form of evil because they believe what they are doing is the right thing to do. Whereas, people outside of the Taliban might disagree and say some of their doings are wrong and immoral such as murdering and suicide bombings.
In reality, the Russians and the Taliban have taken away lives, peacefulness, security and torn apart families and friends all over Afghanistan. And it might even take years to repair such destruction and evil that has been thrown upon this country.
